Get Involved in PAVE!

We have paused our recruitment for the survey.  We will be reaching out directly to people receiving Regional Center services and families to recruit volunteers to test Our Quality and Outcomes Measures Survey.

In the meantime you can find information about this stage of the project below.

The PAVE Service Outcomes Project’s goal is to find out how good people’s lives are when they receive services from Regional Centers in California. We also want to use what we learn to help make these services better.

Many people with intellectual and developmental disabilities depend on services and support staff to live a good life. We want to learn if these services are actually helping. To do this, we created new surveys and tools with help from:

  • People with intellectual/developmental disabilities

  • Families and friends
  • Service providers
  • Regional Center directors
  • Experts from across the country

We will need your help to test these surveys before we use them statewide. We especially need people who receive Supported Living Services, Independent Living Services, Supported Employment, or In-Home Respite from their Regional Center. If you participate, you will receive a gift card for your time.

Who can participate?

The three groups of people who can participate are listed below.  We will be reaching out to each group with more information soon.

If are 18 years or older, use Regional Center services AND can answer questions about your life and the services your receive, you will be able to participate in our "Self Report" survey. You can have someone help you (for example, by reading the questions to you) but your answers must be your own.

Easy to read project information.

If you are a family member or advocate for someone with intellectual/developmental disabilities who receives Regional Center services, we would like you to test our "Representatives survey". This survey is intended for the chosen representatives of those who cannot complete the information in the survey themselves, even with help. You may or may not also be their authorized representative or conservator. You will be asked to complete information about the person's needs, life, goals and services and how well services seem to be working for them. You should know the person well (at least for a year). You should NOT be their paid support staff or service coordinator. You do not need to share the person's name or other identifying details.

If you are parent, sibling, grandparent, other relative or close friend of someone with an intellectual/developmental disability, we want your help testing our "Family and Friends Views and Experiences" survey. This is a shorter survey that helps us learn more about how you as a relative or friend feel about the services their relative or friend receives. You do not need to share the person's name or other identifying details.
